Apple Remains In The Top 5
Apple Remains In The Top 5
by , 10:00 AM EDT, August 9th, 2000
Apple again finds itself in the 3rd overall spot in the PC Data Top 10 list for Hardware Sites. After spending much of the summer in the top spot, and being there as recently as the week after MACWORLD, Apple's two main competitors for site share came in 1 and 2. For the second week in a row, both Comopaq and Dell had more unique visitors than the Apple site. Even though traffic volume was still good, the top 4 sites on the list alld drew over 1 million people, Apple was not able to regain the number one spot. The rest of the Top 10 contained the usual suspects: HP, Gateway, IBM, Intel, and hardware resellers Egghead, Outpost, and Googlegear.

The Mac Observer Spin:
With the recent release of the new iMac line, and the expected announcement of an upgraded portable line, the Apple site expects to see increased traffic over the next few months as students look for new computers for the start of the school year.Warning: include(/usr/local/etc/httpd/sites/macobserver.com/htdocs/forums/extension.inc) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/bbm/macobserver.com/ee2/www/htdocs/comments/comments.php on line 108
