Apple Site Sees Steady Traffic Through The Holiday Season

by , 1:00 PM EST, December 28th, 2000

The final holiday rush saw high traffic to all of the major computer maker's web sites, according to the PC Data Top 10 rankings. Dell led the way with nearly 1.5 million visitors, but Compaq, HP, Gateway, and Apple also topped the 1 million mark for site visitors last week. The two major online resellers, Outpost and Egghead, not surprisingly saw high traffic with over .5 million visitors each. IBM and Intel were holdovers from last week, and rounding out the Top 10 this week was newcomer Palm. Palm devices were a hot holiday item, so Palm's entry in the Top 10 is not surprising.

The Mac Observer Spin:

Apple did not see the spike they had hoped for, and that they had anticipated with their bevy of special prices and promotions. However, traffic to the Apple site was steady throughout the holiday season, and the Apple.com site can expect a large number of visitors during the upcoming MACWORLD Expo.
