Alternative QuickTime Player Updated

Searchware Solutions has updated their alternative QuickTime media player, Pix Lite, to version 1.1. The new version adds increased AppleScript support, and provides all of the functionality of Apple's own QuickTime Player and Picture Viewer, but in a much smaller package. According to Searchware Solutions:

Version 1.1 makes the following changes:

  • Improved AppleScript support, adding many user-requested commands.
  • Improved the Slide Show setup process.
  • Added the ability to scale by number of pixels, rather than just percentages.
  • Made several general performance improvements.
  • Made a wide variety of bug fixes, a full list of which is provided in the included documentation.

ABOUT PIX LITE
Pix Lite is meant as a replacement for Apple's QuickTime Player andPicture Viewer applications. Pix Lite provides many of the same options andfunctions of Apple's utilities; but instead of bloat andunintuitiveness, Pix Lite offers a simple, elegant and intuitive interface with thepower of QuickTime.

Pix Lite is a small, fast and effecient media viewer that harnesses thepower of QuickTimeæ4. Pix Lite offers the following features:

  • View any QuickTime supported picture or movie format including JPEG,GIF, TIFF, BMP, MOV, AVI, MPEG and more!

  • Convert any QuickTime supported picture format into any other QuickTimesupported picture format.
