Steve Jobs' Tokyo Keynote To Be Beamed Via Satellite To UK Retailer [Updated]

Correction: We originally reported that Apple would be streaming this event, when in reality they will be providing a satellite feed of the event. The story below has been corrected. Thanks to the Observers who kept us straight on this!

Steve Jobs will be offering the keynote presentation at MACWORLD Tokyo next week, and many people are hoping the event will be streamed. If you are shopping for computers in the London suburb of Croydon at 1:00 AM (local), you are in luck. Apple has announced they will be offering a satellite feed of the event to the large computing retailer called PC World. According to Apple's Web site:

Come and see Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs, deliver his MACWORLD Tokyo keynote address live via Satellite downlink at PC World in Croydon on Wednesday Feb. 21st from 11.30pm onwards. With Japanese food and drink, hands-on product demonstrations, and plenty of in-store promotions and special deals only available on the night, this will be a unique Apple extravaganza you're not likely to forget.

Steve Jobs' legendary keynote presentations always generate great excitement and this one should be no exception!

See it first at PC World - open for business from 11.30pm until 3.00am at:

You can find more information on MACWORLD Tokyo at IDG's Web site.

The Mac Observer Spin:

Ok, this is just a bit weird. It's great that Apple is putting a little marketing muscle towards promoting Mac sales at a retail chain, but we strongly hope that the event will be streamed, or at least made available with other satellite feeds, to more places than a single retail shop in a London suburb. Hopefully, more streaming news will be forthcoming soon. If not, we'll ready our passports. Congrats to the lucky blokes in Croydon who will have a great view!
