Roxen Web Platform Adds Support For Asian Characters

by , 11:00 AM EST, February 27th, 2001

Roxen Internet Software has announced an update to Roxen Platform, bringing the content management software to version 2.1. The new version now supports simultaneous multi-language content serving, something the company says would be a first. According to Roxen:

Roxen Internet Software today announced the support for Asian character sets in Roxen Platform 2.1. The announcement was made to coincide with MacWorld Tokyo and highlight Roxen IS' availability on Apple's forthcoming operating system, Mac OS X. Roxen Platform is the first true Web Content Management system available on Mac OS X, and Roxen IS expects that the web development teams will embrace the capability of designing, coding, developing and serving from one platform.

This important advance allows companies to serve Asian, European versions of content from one server, drastically reducing development time. Full Unicode support is integrated with the graphics subsystem in Roxen Platform as the key to supporting Asian character sets.

International corporations and those seeking global positioning benefit the most from being able to serve the world from one Web location, and users appreciate that a company's site appears in their language with their particular character sets. Cost, consistency and speed of change improve when multiple Web sites are consolidated to one. A Web designer can even work on user interfaces without understanding the language, thanks to the tight integration of Unicode and graphics in Roxen Platform.

Roxen Platform is a strong collaborative Web site building environment that includes templates, workflow, access control, work areas and versioning. As opposed to other Web Content Management vendors that force customers to mix and match pieces and integrate them over a period of months, Roxen Platform is a comprehensive toolset that includes all of the pieces needed to build and maintain dynamic Web sites, and it is powerful enough to power even the world's most popular sites.

In short, Roxen Platform 2.1 is a comprehensive Web server software suite for collaborative Web Content Management, offering scalability, state-of-the-art security, high-performing, multi-lingual capabilities, now including Asian character sets.
