Flowers And Dalmations Do Not Equal Higher Traffic

by , 7:00 AM EST, February 28th, 2001

Traffic increased across the board last week according to the PC Data Top 10 rankings. Universally strong traffic, however, kept the Top 10 largely unchanged from the previous week. Apple drew over 1 million visitors, good enough to keep the Cupertino based computer maker in the fourth spot on the list. Dell regained the top spot, with hardware makers Compaq, Gateway, HP, IBM, and Intel all remaining in the Top 10. The three major resellers, Egghead, Outpost, and eTracks rounded out this weeks rankings.

The Mac Observer Spin:

Traffic has been steady and strong for the main players in the hardware market over the last couple of months. Apple saw only a moderate spike in traffic resulting from the MACWORLD Tokyo Expo, due in large part to the totally underwhelming announcements.

As we have reported many times, the PC Data Rankings do not include Mac users, or rather people using Macintosh computers. We believe that if they did, of course, Apple would rate much higher on this list week in and week out.
