Apple has announced a new offer to bring you into the developer fold. The company is offering a "Select" membership, the entry level developer membership, for US$400, a 20% discount off of the normal US$500 membership. The goal is to bring more developers to the Mac fold, specifically to the Mac OS X fold. According to Apple:
To celebrate the launch of Mac OS X, Apple Developer Connection is offering a special Select membership discount. Join by April 20th and receive a Select membership for only US $400 (US $100 off the regular Select membership price).
ADC Select members receive Mac OS X (a US $129 value), Mac OS X Developer Tools, and the latest Mac OS X System Overview book, plus 12 months of Select member benefits, including:
- Prerelease Software Seeds
- Technical Support
- ADC Monthly Mailing with Developer CD Series
To learn all there is to know about Mac OS X development in just one week, purchase a Mac OS X Special Select Membership (w/ WWDC e-ticket). You get Mac OS X and Mac OS X Developer Tools, a year of ADC Select membership, plus a Worldwide Developers Conference 2001 e-ticket for US $1,795 (a savings of US $300).
You can find more information on the Select membership special offer at the ADC Web site. You can find more information on the Mac OS X Special Select Membership (w/ WWDC e-ticket) at Apple's WWDC Web site.
The Mac Observer Spin:
We know there are lots and lots of people who are looking at Mac OS X, especially from the Windows and *nix worlds. This is a pretty good offer to make you a registered developer. We will point out that the Mac OS X developer tools come with the Mac OS X retail box, but that doesn't include the developer tech support or the pre-release seeds.Observer Comments
