Apple Offers 180 Day Zero Interest/No Payment Loans

Apple Offers 180 Day Zero Interest/No Payment Loans

by , 10:00 AM EST, December 6th, 2001

Apple Computer has a Christmas gift to Mac shoppers in the form of a 180 day zero interest Instant Loan. The offer is designed to spur holiday sales by offering no interest or payments for up to 180 days from the loan date, but the offer gets even more interesting. Customers can access their account without reapplying for a loan, enabling future purchases of Apple products with ease. But that's not all. Your Apple Instant Loan comes with a lot of great benefits including low monthly payments, flexible repayment options and no pre-payment penalty. From Apple's Web site:

With no interest or payments for 180 days and an APR as low as 9.99%, now is the time to get the Apple products you need. In most cases you will get a decision on your loan application within 30 seconds.

Apple Instant Loans up to $25,000 are available to qualified customers with a choice of four repayment terms: 24, 36, 48 and 60 months. Customers can access their account without reapplying for a loan, enabling future purchases of Apple products with ease.

But that's not all. Your Apple Instant Loan comes with a lot of great benefits including low monthly payments, flexible repayment options and no pre-payment penalty.

Apple and MBNA® have made instant financing so easy, the hardest part may be picking the Mac that fits best with your decór.

*Financing available for U.S. residents on approved line of credit from MBNA America Bank, N.A. The monthly payment is an estimate based on your total purchase, the selected repayment term, and an APR of 9.99%. Actual repayment term may vary. MBNA will set your APR between 9.99% and 26.99%. The APR is not guaranteed and may change. In most cases, a change in the APR will restart your repayment term and change your minimum monthly payment. There is a 3% transaction fee for all advances on the account, including access checks, direct deposit and balance transfers (fee: min. $5, max. $40). There is no fee for purchases billed by Apple directly to your account. Receipt of maximum credit line is subject to income and credit worthiness standards.

**This account offers a six month same-as-cash feature on your initial purchase if it occurs within the first six months. Your initial repayment term will start at the end of the same-as-cash period. Finance charges will accrue. If you repay your initial purchase in full by the due date of your sixth statement, we will rebate all finance charges accrued on that purchase. You may prepay at any time without penalty.

The other nice thing about the offer is that, in most cases, loan approval occurs in 30 seconds after the application is submitted. Visit the Apple Online Store or, if you're lucky enough to have one near you, an Apple Retail Store nearest you. The offer ends December 31, 2001

The Mac Observer Spin:

A 180 day interest free loan is a very nice move by Apple, it will help reduce end-of-year inventory, possibly in preparation for whatever may be announced in January's MACWORLD, while making its product a lot easier to buy. With a low interest rate and a 6 month grace period, it would be hard not to take advantage of such an offer.
