Debunking The Old Mac Myths, Coursey-Style
by , 11:00 AM EST, February 26th, 2002
Observant readers will note we've been covering David Coursey's series on using Macs for a few weeks now, and this week he hasn't failed to deliver another piece of pro-Mac material telling us why switching to the Mac "won't hurt as much as you think".
This time, he's addressing a reader's questions, which are pretty much universal concerns for anyone who's thinking of making the switch from a Windows world. Can I really swap files? Is it really that easy? Can I really do everything I used to do on my Windows box? Coursey cuts through the techie stuff with a fair amount of ease and plenty of encouraging words.
You can check out the article at ZDNet.The Mac Observer Spin:
This is, all in all, a nicely balanced article. Hard to believe that just last month our own Observers were expecting "lame grandstanding," while now they're downright convinced he's turned into an "Apple zealot."
Zealot, huh? He's hardly beating the evangelistic drum after some kind of charismatic church-style conversion experience. He's been making eyes at the Macintosh platform for about six months or so now, and this just seems to be the logical conclusion. That, of course, isn't stopping the almost surprised derision in the TalkBack forums.
We'll see in a couple of weeks what Coursey's final verdict will be. It's looking good.
