4D WebSTAR Update Released

4D, Inc. has released an update for 4D WebSTAR, bringing it to version 5.1. 4D WebSTAR is a 4D app designed for Web developers. The update features performance enhancements to power the WebSTAR Server Suite. The WebSTAR update also includes an integrated FastCGI. According to 4D, Inc.:

4D, Inc., publishers of the 4th Dimension RAD/RDBMS Environment and 4D WebSTAR Server Suite, today announced the release of its 4D WebSTAR v5.1 Update, now with integrated FastCGI, a new 4D WebSTAR Rewrite plug-in for URL management, new Language Negotiation features and more.

4D WebSTAR v5.1 includes an integrated 4D WebSTAR Rewrite plug-in for extremely fast and flexible proxy, URL redirect and other URL management features. FastCGI, the high-performance gateway interface, is now included in 4D WebSTAR v5.1. A robust implementation, FastCGI on 4D WebSTAR V outpaces both CGIs and Apache mods, giving users the safety of the CGI with the performance of a built-in module. The new Language Negotiation feature automatically selects localized files based on user-set browser preferences.
