Another Mac OS X Convert, From Linux
Another Mac OS X Convert, From Linux

The Gamers Press ran an article recently entitled, Penguin2Apple: How a Linux Lover turned to a Macintosh, in which author, Dark Paladin explains how he wound up moving to OS X after using Linux for two and a half years. Dark Paladin says:
There was something about OS X that just felt right to my fingers. I liked The Dock, the Start Menu/Program Launching system. I learned how to move folders and program icons in and out of the Dock, or how to navigate the file system.
The article gives a pretty in-depth view into the thought process one goes through when selecting an OS, and is a really good read.
The Mac Observer Spin:
UNIX and Linux users are among the the most recent OS X converts, and we think more will follow. What we like about this group is that they bring with them a certain savvy about the underlying UNIX mechanics of OS X. UNIX is extremely powerful, and those who use it without the benefit of a good GUI are highly prized individuals in the IT world. What OS X is doing is bringing these folks into the Apple fold by providing the UNIX underpinning they need while providing a GUI that satisfies much of what they want in a user interface. Better yet, it provides a completely new playground for them. Expect to see some really cool stuff in OS X in the next few months as more UNIX/Linux gurus join up.
