Default Folder Update From St. Clair

by , 1:00 PM EDT, May 30th, 2002

St. Clair Software has released an update for Default Folder, bringing it to version 3.1.4. Default Folder is a Open and Save dialog enhancement designed for improved Finder control. The update includes performance improvements and user requested enhancements. According to St. Clair Software:

St. Clair Software today released version 3.1.4 of Default Folder, their popular enhancement for Open and Save
dialogs in Mac OS 9.2.2 and earlier.

Default Folder 3.1.4 allows registered users of St. Clair Software's new Default Folder X utility to use Default Folder 3.1.4 in the Classic environment. It also adds user-requested enhancements to the Default Folder Strip control strip module, and improves compatibility with a number of applications.

Highlights of the changes in Default Folder 3.1.4 include:

  • Registration codes for Default Folder X are now recognized by Default Folder (Default Folder X purchases include a Default Folder 3.1.4 license for use in the Classic environment)
  • The Default Folder Strip control strip module now allows users to delete favorite and recent folders by holding down the delete key while selecting a folder from the menu
  • Default Folder now knows about more applications that require Navigation Services, easing compatibility issues when the "turn off Navigation Services" feature is enabled

You can find more information about the Default Folder update at the St. Clair Software Web site. Default Folder 3.1.4 is free for registered users, while the full version is available for US$25.00.
