PrintBoy Anywhere Taps Bluetooth Network Printing

by , 6:00 PM EDT, June 25th, 2002

Bachmann Software has released a new app for Palm users, PrintBoy Anywhere. PrintBoy Anywhere is a wireless printing utility designed to allow printing from a Palm device to a printer via IR or LAN. Now with support for Bluetooth, PrintBoy can tap LAN wireless infrastructures for network printing. According to Bachmann Software:

Today, Bachmann Software introduced PrintBoy Anywhere, the latest version of its market leading PrintBoy software. PrintBoy Anywhere allows Palm OS(r) users to print their business-critical information by selecting their wireless method of choice, and sending their data to the printer. Whether the users work in an environment supporting Bluetooth, 802.11b (also known as Wi-Fi), have modem access, or infrared, PrintBoy Anywhere allows them to send their data to the printer of their choice.

Until this release, Bachmann Software had focused its PrintBoy support to infrared (IR), since virtually all handheld devices come equipped with IR. However, the continued adoption of LAN and wireless infrastructure (including both Bluetooth and network alternatives) necessitated the expansion of PrintBoy to other wireless communication protocols.

You can find more information about the PrintBoy Anywhere release at the Bachmann Software Web site. PrintBoy Anywhere is available for US$39.99.
