Amazon Rebate Pulled?

After it was reported yesterday that Amazon was offering a $50 rebate on MacOS X 10.2, Observer Stephen Joiner let us know that the Amazon School of Rebates page was quickly altered to list at the original price:

I note that less than 24 hours after Amazon was advertising Jaguar for $79.95 ($129.95 - $50 rebate) they have apparently pulled the offer. The link you listed in your article yesterday now shows only the standard $129.95 price, with no mention of rebate.

Checking on this at around 1am (Central) this morning, we noted that this is still the case. Meanwhile, another Observer pointed out that the mail-in rebate coupon still listed the $50 refund.

When this is clarified, we'll be sure to let you know.

Curiouser and curiouser... we suspect it would be best to wait until there's some consistency in Amazon's information before placing an order. Until then, feel free to leap in to our forums discussionon this topic.
