Apple Knowledge Base Article - Updater Problems With Final Final Cut Pro 3.0.2f1
by , 10:00 AM EST, December 23rd, 2002
Apple has added a new article to the Knowledge Base regarding the Final Cut Pro 3.0.4 updater not updating some copies of Final Cut Pro 3.0.2. Apple's Knowledge Base (sometimes referred to as the KBase) is a central location for all of Apple's support documents and other important information.
Some users of Final Cut Pro may find that the new updater will not update their copy of Final Cut Pro 3.0.2. This is due to some copies being mistakenly labeled as 3.0.2f1. The solution is to call AppleCare technical support. From Apple:
Symptom
When running the 3.0.4 updater, you receive the following error message:
This is not a version of Final Cut Pro which can be updated. (err 2)
When looking at the version number of the 3.0.2 software in the splash screen or the Finder "get info" window, it shows "3.0.2f1" instead of "3.0.2".
Products Affected
- Final Cut Pro 3.0.2 for Mac OS X
Solution
Please call AppleCare technical support for assistance with this issue. In the United States, AppleCare can be reached at 1-800-275-2273. The AppleCare phone number for other regions can be found on the AppleCare Support Guide that came with the product.
You can find the new Knowledge Base article at Apple's Web site.
