Virtix Releases New Zoom And Pan iMovie Effects Package

by , 2:00 PM EST, December 27th, 2002

Users of iMovie will be glad to hear that Virtix has released a new product called Zoom and Pan 2.0. Zoom and Pan 2.0 is an updated replacement for the company's previous software packages, Virtix Zoom 1.1 and Virtix Pan and Scan 1.0. Zoom and Pan 2.0 works with iMovie 2.0.1 and up for both OS 9 and OS X. From Virtix:

This package has a custom graphical user interface. With Virtix Zoom and Pan 2.0, all you have to do is option-click on the effect in the iMovie effect palette and a dialog box will pop up that will allow you control your motion as you scan across the image. Since all this capability is wrapped up in a single effect, your iMovie palette is not cluttered up with dozens of additional effects.

Virtix Zoom and Pan 2.0 allows you to specify an XY position, a magnification factor and an angle parameter at the beginning and end of the clip. This means you can move across, zoom into and rotate an image at the same time.

Virtix Zoom and Pan supports transparency in imported images. You can superimpose imported still images on top of the video playing in the background.

Virtix Zoom and Pan also contains the bonus Spotlight and Witness Protection effects, which allow you to highlight or blur a circular area of an image.

Zoom and Pan 2.0 is available now. New users can purchase it for $34.99, while previous users of either Zoom or Pan and Scan can get it at a discounted price of $14.99. You can find more information at Virtix's Web site.
