FileStorm And FileStorm Pro Updated With Improved Icon Control

by , 7:00 AM EST, January 31st, 2003

Mind Vision Software has released updates for FileStorm and FileStorm Pro, bringing them to version 1.5. The FileStorm line are distibution utilities designed for software development and electronic delivery. The updates feature improved icon control and enhanced format creation. According to Mind Vision:

MindVision Software, the leading developer of software delivery tools for Macintosh, today announced the release of FileStorm 1.5 and FileStorm Pro 1.5 for Mac OS X.

FileStorm and FileStorm Pro are built from the ground up as Unix/OS X Aqua applications and take advantage of the latest advancements in OS X to offer a rich WYSIWYG visual user interface to create customized disk image files (.dmg files) for delivering software products via the Internet.

The newest version of FileStorm adds improved functionality, extensive customization capabilities, and increased compatibility. Not only does this new version provide an extensive set of capabilities not available in other disk image utilities, it is now also the only tool that can create a disk image or CD on Mac OS X 10.2 that is completely backwards-compatible on Mac OS X 10.1.

FileStorm 1.5 adds enhanced options for controlling the size, selection, and alignment of icons on disk images. FileStorm disk images can now be assigned multi-language license agreements that are displayed to the user when the image is mounted.

There are also more options for disk image creation, including the ability to choose from multiple formats (DMG or IMG), create read-only and read-only compressed images, and additionally post-process encode (GZip, BZip, MacBinary, and BinHex) your images to make them ready for downloading from your web site.

You can find more information about the FileStorm and FileStorm Pro update at the Mind Vision Web site. FileStorm is available for US$19.95, and FileStorm Pro is available for US$79.95.
