Apple Releases New Safari Beta: Performance Tweaks, Web Site Compatibility

Apple has released a new Safari Beta. The update includes minor performance improvements, and other minor tweaks, and does not include any major new features. From Apple's Safari page:
What's New Safari Update 2-12-03 improves compatibility with popular web sites, displays web pages and Flash content more quickly, adds XML support, increases standards conformance and improves stability. The update also works with self-signed security certificates.

We were hoping for tabbed browsing, though we don't actually expect to see that feature any time soon. On the other hand, we are pleased to see that Apple is actually fulfilling its promise to keep Safari as compatible with as many Web sites as possible. To remind you, Safari includes a reporting feature for when you find sites that do not work properly. Using the reporting feature sends the report to Apple's Safari team so that they can figure out what's wrong. Again, that Apple is following through on that means that Mac users won't be left behind when it comes to Web site access.Observer Comments
