Memory Usage Getter Updated With Admin Process Killing

by , 12:00 PM EST, February 26th, 2003

Ellipsis Productions has released an update for Memory Usage Getter, bringing it to version 2.2. Memory Usage Getter is a utility designed for the display of a systems operational memory usage. The update features administrative process killing and expanded language support. According to Ellipsis Productions:

Ellipsis Productions today released Memory Usage Getter 2.2.

Memory Usage Getter is the ONLY Mac OS X product on the market that displays the memory and CPU usage of each individual process (not all lumped together), as well as displaying them visually so that you can see at a glance the relative usage of processes to one another.

Version 2.2 adds a myriad of new features, probably the most notable of which is the ability to kill processes directly from within Memory Usage Getter!

Unlike Process Viewer, which can only kill processes that are running under your username, Memory Usage Getter can kill any process, provided that you are an administrator. There is no longer any need to go to the Terminal to kill processes; Memory Usage Getter takes care of that for you!

Additional features of version 2.2 are the addition of a Cocoa toolbar, which includes a search box that lets you focus on specific processes whose names contain a given keyword, French and Spanish localizations, and a number of other small features and bug fixes.

You can find more information about the Memory Usage Getter update at the Ellipsis Productions Web site. The Memory Usage Getter update is free for registered users, while the full version is available for US$5.00.
