Apple Stores Host Friday iPod Event: Posters, T-Shirts, & Give Away
by , 3:30 PM EDT, April 29th, 2003
Apple has announced a special event at its Apple Retail Store locations to promote the new iPod. The company says that DJs will be on hand spinning tunes on an iPod, and musical acts will perform at New York City's SoHo store, and The Grove location in LA. Also, attendees can get an event poster, as well as a "limited edition" T-shirt (free with purchase, or US$10 otherwise). From Apple's retail Web site:
Sporting a new design, with enough capacity to hold more than 7500 songs, the new iPod rocks into the Apple Store on Friday, May 2, during a revolutionary event you won't want to miss.
From 6 to 10 p.m., enjoy a live DJ spinning tunes on his iPod. Receive a free event poster (while supplies last). And get a limited edition T-shirt for US$10 or for free if you buy an iPod. That's not all: you can also enter to win a JBL sound system worth US$1800.
Special Appearances. Musical group Glassjaw will appear at the SoHo store and a surprise music act will perform at The Grove during this event. Come back for details.
Be the first to get your hands on the incredible new iPod and discover for yourself how the world's greatest portable music player just got even better.
You can get more information on the event at Apple's Web site. Thanks to Observer Anderson for the heads up on the event.
The Mac Observer Spin:
Judging by the response to the iPods themselves, and all the hype surrounding Apple at the moment, this should be a very popular event.Observer Comments
