See Your IP Address In Your Menu Bar With Updated Utility

You need your IP address sometimes, or at least some of us do. There are many apps that can tell you your IP address, and those handy with a command line can get it with no problem. You can even get it in your System Preferences, but Monkeybread Software has updated a utility that will let you see it in your menu bar. The app is, appropriately enough, called IP in Menubar, and the new version is 2.0, which includes new features and controls. From the company:
Monkeybread Software Releases IP in Menubar v2.0, a utility to display the current IP in the menubar near the clock. IP in the Menubar v2.0 is made with REALbasic from REAL Software, Inc.
New additions to version 2.0 include:
- Added router support using a config file.
- Added a menu entry to Quit.
- Added a menu entry to visit our Web site.
- Added a menu entry to update the IP.
Requires Mac OS X 10.2; source code is included. This application shows REALbasic developers how to create a statusitem in the menubar and add a menu.
IP in Menubar is freeware, but the company accepts contributions through PayPal. You can find download links for IP in Menubar at the Monkeybread Software Web site.
