Jobs Won't Do Macworld CreativePro Keynote, But Greg Joswiak Will

by , 5:45 PM EDT, June 16th, 2003

IDG World Expo has announced the keynote speaker for Macworld CreativePro in July. Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of hardware product marketing, will be the man in the spotlight. This will mark the first time Steve Jobs has not given the keynote address at a Macworld since his return to the throne in 1997.

Macworld CreativePro is the new name for the newly refocused New York Macworld Expo. The new focus is on the creative markets, specifically design, publishing, video and audio professionals and prosumers. Apple is not expected to announce any new products at the show, and Steve Jobs was not expected to give this keynote since the changes in the show were announced. From IDG's press release:

IDG World Expo today announced that Greg Joswiak, vice president of hardware product marketing at Apple, will deliver the opening feature presentation at Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo. Joswiak will address Macworld CreativePro's audience of creative professionals on Wednesday, July 16 at 9:30 a.m. ET.

Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo, taking place July 14-18, 2003 at New York City's Javits Center, is designed to address the unique needs of creative professionals in design and publishing, video and music.

Joswiak, a.k.a. "Joz," leads the team responsible for all Apple desktops and portables, including the iPod and AirPort. His team's mission is to define the future of personal computing by providing industry leading features and designs that provide customers with valuable solutions for the digital lifestyle.

You can find more information on Macworld CreativePro at the Macworld Expo Web site.
