I've been watching the battle between Creative Manager Pro and Infowit Creative Manager for the past few months. So far Infowit (http://www.infowit.com/) seems to be in the lead as far as features, performance and ease of use. But it should be interesting to see what Creative Manager Pro comes up with in this next release, although a lot of these features are already in Infowit. Either way its a good thing for us consumers!

I took a demo of both version 6.3 and 7.0, and neither of them are very good. They are clunky and non-intuitive. I wish apple would make a project management tool, they would do an awesome job. Until then I recommend checking out Basecamp HQ for smaller projects/companies, or Infowit Creative Manager for medium to large companies, and also Vertabase seems to have some nice features, but I have not tried that one yet. Or Primavera for the huge companies or for construction companies. Oh, and in case your wondering I'm a PM consultant for many large Fortune 500 companies and PMI certified.

I've been researching a solution for my firm and found that Creative Manager's price point is excellent for the features it offers.

There's no startup fees like what Infowit charges. Also, I was not really comfortable with the fact that Infowit's parent company is an ad/design agency who may also be a potential competitor.

Most of the PM softwares that I've looked at like the ones listed by the previous poster are not designed specifically for design or creative firms. They don't really address the workflow issues in my design firm. Most don't have accounting functions or even exports to an accounting system.

Lastly, I really liked Creative Manager for the availability of their demo site to test drive their software. I found their interface to be very intuitive.

I recommend others to check it out for themselves.

Not sure why Creative Manager Pro is being compared to Infowit, which has no acctg features to speak of.

The interface of the new Creative Manager Pro is super easy. I heard a lot about Creative Manager Pro at the recent How conference. People were pretty crazy about the support gurus there, too. They seem to have been Mac gurus since 1984. But the sales guys must be inundated, cuz it was hard to get through.

Once you get up and running, it's real nice - auto emails when the project is out of bounds, great charts to see where you are versus budget, etc. Us visually-oriented design critters really need that kind of stuff.

I'm all for the competition thing, but as far as I can tell, these guys have no competition.

Hi, need more input from a real live user? I like the way that Creative Manager Pro links to iCal and AddressBook. Once it's synced to my G5, I take that information, sync it to my Palm, and I'm off on the road with my web-based data in my hands! it's amazing. There's not another design-oriented app out there that can do that.

These guys are real Mac fanatics - since 1984, eh? I believe it! Just look at the app! It's a beauty!

The really great part is, I've been a fanatic of the Palm OS ever since it came out, loving the sync abilities with my Mac. Now the whole team's contacts can sync to my Palm. It's a tremendous idea - unbeatable, if you ask me!
