by , 1:00 PM EDT, June 25th, 2004
Griffin Technology, Inc. has released a new version of the iTrip driver, bringing it to version 2.0. The iTrip is a an iPod add-on device designed for transmitting FM frequencies. The latest release expands available frequencies and improved the installation process. According to Griffin Technology:
Griffin Technology Inc, innovator of exciting hardware and software products for the Mac market, today announced the iTrip Software Version 2.0 is available for immediate download.
This small free software installs all available US frequencies on and iPod or iPod mini. Users can then change the broadcast frequency of their iTrip or iTrip mini directly from their iPod. This new software greatly improves the installation experience and adds 87.7 as an available frequency to US iTrip owners.
The iTrip FM Transmitter is one of the hottest iPod accessories in the world because it allows iPod owners to play their music in their cars or over their stereo through the FM radio. One of iTrip's most unique features is its ability to broadcast to any FM frequency on the dial. The new iTrip Software adds yet another possible frequency to the iTrip by adding 87.7, which is available and often clear in many US based European cars.
The new 2.0 Software also makes getting started much easier with a quick visual guide that appears directly in the downloaded folder.
You can find more information about the latest iTrip release at the Griffin Technology, Inc. Web site. The iTrip is available for US$39.99, the companion softrware is available as freeware.
