Updated PhotoVu LCD Picture Frame Adds Removeable HD Option

PhotoVu LLC announced Thursday an update to its 19-inch LCD, wireless digital picture frame.

The PV1940 wireless digital picture frame, can be hung on a wall displaying digital photos and images. The new update adds iPhoto support, an optional 40 gigabyte (GB) removable hard drive, WiFi PDA support, display of EXIF data, and the ability to mount and use in portrait mode.

The PV1940 displays images at up to 1280 by 960 pixels, and supports Wi-Fi wireless and wired networking. The basic PV1940 retails for US$1,299. With an additional removeable 40GB drive, the product costs $1,549.

For that kind of money, I'd rather buy a new iMac and hang it on the wall with a fancy frame around it!
