Tonight: Bob "Dr. Mac" Levitus Addresses the "State of the Mac"

by , 12:05 AM EST, December 9th, 2004

For those living in striking distance of Austin, TX -- and for anyone else who really wants a chance to see writer Bob "Dr. Mac" Levitus in the flesh -- today is your lucky day. Bob will be delivering his annual "State of the Macintosh" address at tonight's Capitol Macintosh meeting.

Bob will be presenting his favorite applications, games, and utilities for the Macintosh, as well as showing off unique features of Apple's iSight and iPod, and El Gato System's EyeHome digital media player.

For those unfamiliar with Bob "Dr. Mac" Levitus, he is one of the world's leading authorities on the Macintosh. He has written almost 50 best-selling computer books including his newest titles, "Garage Band for Dummies" and "Mac OS X For Dummies, Panther Edition." His books have sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide, and have been translated into more than a dozen languages. Oh, and he's also the columnist behind keyboard for TMO's "Rants and Raves."

Capitol Macintosh, the Austin-area Mac user group, also announced, "We'll also provide a year-end update about our Tutor-A-Teacher program, have CapMac membership gift certificates for sale, and celebrate the end of very successful year with special award presentations and extra surprises. Plus, questions and answers, a holiday-sized raffle with over $1,000.00 in donated software licenses, the nicest Mac friends you could ever hope to meet, and more!"

The meeting will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Thursday December 9th, in the University of Texas Pharmacy Building, Room 3.106, on University Street, between 24th and Dean Keeton. Members and non-members alike are welcome to attend.
