SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- While roaming the show floor at this week's Macworld Expo, one of the exhibitor's displays caught our eye, Boom Bags. The company claims to have "The Ultimate iPod Accessory," a rolling stereo on wheels for the traveller who won't compromise on music quality.

Boom Bags introduced two of their products, the Office on Wheels and the Rolling Suiter, at the show. These products combine the convenience of a rolling suitcase with an embedded stereo audio system, complete with sub-woofer. The audio unit contains connectors for power, audio output, audio input and a microphone. The controls include power, volume, tone, bass and mic.
Boom Bags currently offers two models. The Office on Wheels includes a removable laptop shoulder bag, and is priced at $329.95. The larger Rolling Suiter includes a removable tri-fold garment bag and a detachable piggy back strap to carry additional luggage, and is also priced at $329.95.

This is yet another first-time Macworld exhibitor.Observer Comments
Huge market? Maybe not. But certainly it hits a niche pretty well.
Think about it. It's not intended for use in the airport but at your final destination. I think this would be great for weekend getaways. Instead of packing those tinny-sounding portable speakers you've got a nice powered stereo to use in your hotel room.
I'm wondering if this uses the empty space in the suitcase as the enclosure for the subwoofer...
I am a business traveler and I think this item is actually really neat. It's hard to make a hotel room feel like home. Playing a little music on an alarm clock radio really doesn't hit the spot like it should, eh? Also, I like the idea that you can have the option of using the bag with your business presentations in meetings as a kind of PA system. The website says that it uses the empty space between the trolley handles and that it doesn't take any extra packing space, so it's not like you'd be losing anything by buying one . . . I'm probably buying one as soon as I have the extra cash . . .
I would use this for sales presentation using the built in mic feature.
I would use this with my ipod in my hotel room at night.
I would use this to watch DVD's on my laptop in my hotel room at night.
I would use this to avoid packing travel speakers that sound like crap.
I however would not be able to use this to annoy people in public because it doesn't run on batteries you uninformed twit, it must be powered.
