SkinIt Offers Affordable Vinyl Skins for Mac mini

SkinIt Offers Affordable Vinyl Skins for Mac mini

by , 1:00 AM EST, March 14th, 2005

SkinIt has released a new 4-piece vinyl skin for Mac mini users who wish to customize their new computer.

At present, SkinIt offers a collection of free designs for $19.95, or customers can upload their own picture or design for additional $2.95. Premium and Sponsored designs are listed as "coming soon."

"SkinIt Skins are made from high-quality vinyl that uses a non-permanent adhesive that will allow you to simply peel off the Skin when its time for a change," according to the SkinIt Web site.

SkinIt's $20 offering may be of particular interest to those attracted to ColorWare's $100 painted Mac minis but who are deterred by the price.

Neat idea, for those of us without a vinyl printer. However, who in the hell comes up with such awful pre-made designs? I'd be interested to see what quality the custom design is printed in, especially seeing as how there is no template or way of viewing how your image will appear once printed. I'll stick with ColorWare.

And for the record, I don't consider that a bad thing. Pretty neat
