Developer News - Apple Explains OpenGL Optimization for OS X

The Apple Developer Connection, the company's developer network, has published an article about optimizing OpenGL performance in Mac OS X applications. OpenGL is a 3D technology built into Mac OS X, and the article shows developers techniques and methods used to gain the highest performance from their apps that use the technology.
"Apple has built a highly optimized and fully modern implementation of OpenGL into the very heart of Mac OS X," the article said. "This article explains general OpenGL optimization techniques and specifically how to optimize your OpenGL code to maximize vertex data throughput. It is intended for developers with an OpenGL application that needs optimizing, a basic understanding of OpenGL programming, and a good idea of how their application's data is structured and used."
