Logitech announced Wednesday the Logitech Wireless Headphones for iPod, which will retail for US$149.99 and be available in North America and Europe next month.
A wireless adapter connects directly to any 3rd generation, 4th generation, U2 Special Edition, photo and mini iPod that includes a dock connector, broadcasting to the Bluetooth 1.2-enabled headphones that can be up to 30 feet away. The wireless adapter weighs just over 1 ounce, the company said in a prepared statement.
The headset (see photo below) weighs 3.2 ounces and has integrated controls to adjust the volume, play, pause, or select tracks without touching the iPod.
The headphones are powered by rechargeable batteries, which play up to eight hours of music per charge. The product can be fully recharged in 2.5 hours. Both the adapter and the headphones can recharge simultaneously with the provided AC adapter, which features two connectors.

Logitech said that the headphones and the adapter are "paired" at the factory, so people can instantly begin using the product with their iPod directly out-of-the-box. Logitech said the new product has been certified by Apple to meet its performance standards.

The article _does_ say that the adapter and headset are paired at the factory. With a special key combination on the headset to re-pair (no pun) it to another transmitter, I would say you are out of luck.
Since there can be many Bluetooth devices in over lapping networks (this wireless mice in an office environment) they are sometimes paired to a known transmitter to reduce the possibility of syncing to the wrong computer.
QuoteHAHAHAHA! What are you talking about?? Have you ever even used Bluetooth before???Guest wrote:

While I admire Logitech's ingenuity, I really don't see a point in purchasing these beautiful yet expensive headphones. If the iPod were a stationary object like a home stereo where moving about was hampered by cords, then these babies would work wonders. However, because the iPod is itself portable, there's no real need to "break free" from cords if the device is going to be going with you, besides tangling.
Perhaps if they reduced the price point I would reconsider, but as of now I'm just not convinced that such a device would be entirely useful for the very mobile iPod.
I like! However, I am looking at this bt headphone instead.

here in the office, where I sometimes nearly pull my iPod off my desk if I absentmindedly turn to get something out fo the credenza behind me. Still, on an airplane (where I use my iPod most) these headphones couldn't be used at all!
Oh...and to answer Biff above, I use a bluetooth mouse AND keyboard.
My G5 iMac recognizes the headset through bluetooth, but does not say they are connected and the headset does not appear when I go to sound preferences. Also, when I plug in the iPod adapter into the headphone outlet in the back of the iMac and hold it in, the sound works through the headphones.
Does anyone know how to get the headset to fully work with computer???
