LAJ Design on Friday released Widget Maker X, which enables Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger" users to create, modify and manage their Dashboard widgets. Widget Maker X allows users to create new widgets or make changes to existing ones by giving them access to the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and JavaScript data found in those files. A wizard based on sample widgets provided by Apple takes users through widget creation step by step.

Users can also employ Widget Maker X to turn widgets on and off in Dashboard. The software costs US$16.50 and can be used in demo mode for five days before it must be purchased. Tiger is required to use it, of course.
