Apple Developer Connection Launches ADC Bookshelf Service

Apple Developer Connection Launches ADC Bookshelf Service

by , 12:00 AM EDT, September 27th, 2005

The Apple Developer Connection (ADC) has launched its new ADC Bookshelf Service, for which the computer maker has teamed with Safari Books Online, a joint venture between technical book publisher O'Reilly and The Pearson Technology Group, which provides Web-based technical documentation.

ADC members can subscribe to the new service for a monthly fee that gains them access to almost 1,000 titles. They can place up to 10 books at a time on their personalized ADC Bookshelf, enabling them to search those volumes, add notes and bookmarks and download a limited number of chapters as PDF files. Old books can be swapped for new ones as needed, with the only caveat that a book needs to stay on the shelf for at least 30 days before it can be switched out.

Pricing is US$17.99 per month for ADC Premier and Select members, $19.99 per month for ADC Online members. A 14-day trial subscription is available.
