PowerLogix Intros 900MHz G3 PCI Upgrade Card
by , 1:10 PM EDT, September 27th, 2005
PowerLogix on Tuesday debuted a PCI upgrade card that enables owners of legacy Power Macs to turn them into 900MHz G3 machines. The US$139 card features 512K of 900MHz L2 cache; another card with 1MB of 900MHz L2 cache is available for $209.99. Other features include a built-in fan sink, fail-safe protection circuitry, CPU Director software and compatibility with add-on PCI cards.
The new upgrade card is compatible with Power Mac 7300, 7500, 7600, 8500, 8600, 9500 and 9600 models as well as certain clones from Power Computing and Umax.

Ok, you want me to buy an upgrade for a computer at the cost of $200 when the computer isn't even worth that now on the open market? I've been trying to sell a heavily UPGRADED 9600 for more than a year that (under it's native OS 9) still runs circles around a dual 1.25 G4 under OS 10 in speed.
Even with a G3/1G, it won't run OS X with any speed or stability, has no USB or FireWire ports built in, and still uses SCSI drives inside. The list of problems goes on and on.
Next you'll be trying to sell the eskimoes an icemaker.
