Macintosh Campus Network Security Application

Bradford Networks announced Thursday that its Campus Network Security Management tools will support Mac OS X and Linux within 30 days. Campus Manager checks for a predefined minimum level of security and allows or a computer to join the network based on whether or not it meets the security requirements.
The system checks each computer when it tries to log in to the network, and quarantines it if it doesn't meet the minimum security level. Once quarantined, a web page tells the user how to correct the problems so they can connect to the network.
"A high percentage of Macintosh computers are used on college campuses," said Robert Anderson, VP of Marketing at Bradford Networks. "Adding the Macintosh platform to our Security Management Application allows Bradford to meet the needs of our customer base."
