Aspyr Sets Sims 2 University Requirements

Mac Gaming News - Aspyr Sets Sims 2 University Requirements

by , 12:05 PM EST, November 22nd, 2005

Aspyr Media on Tuesday issued final system requirements for The Sims 2: University. The expansion pack will require the original Sims 2 as well as Mac OS X v10.3.9, a 1.2GHz G4 or G5 processor, 256MB RAM (512MB recommended), 2GB free hard drive space, 32MB Video RAM (64MB recommended) and a DVD drive.

This addition to the popular "people simulator" includes the young adult age group, which enables Sims to head off to college. Collegiate Sims can vie to become the Big Sim on Campus, earn one of 11 types of degrees that open one of four new careers when they return home as adults, join fraternities and sororities, pull off pranks and more. The expansion pack features three college town settings as well as more than 100 new objects and decor items. Players can also build their own campuses.

Aspyr expects to ship The Sims 2: University next month. Pricing will be US$34.99.

You can even join a band in the game

Subject: Requirements keep going up...

I'm happy with my 800 MHz G3 iBook, but it might as well be a Mac Plus as far as new games go.

What's next? "This remake of Tetris requires a quad-core G5, 8GB RAM, a 1TB Xserve RAID and a video card with 256MB of VRAM for minimum playability."
