Shareware Roundup: MacGPS Pro 6.1, TextWrangler 2.1.1, TextSoap 4.5.1, SaveMe 1.3

by , 12:00 AM EST, November 29th, 2005

The beginning of the week saw the release of point updates to four shareware applications. James Associate's MacGPS Pro 6.1 (US$50; Mac OS X v10.2 required) stitches adjacent USGS Digital Raster Topographical Maps together, shows multiple raster maps in the same window, and locates USGS topographical maps by the quadrant name.

Bare Bones Software's text editor TextWrangler 2.1.1 (free; Mac OS X v10.3.5 required) is a maintenance release that fixes bugs and tweaks the interface. Unmarked Software's TextSoap 4.5.1 ($24.99; Mac OS X v10.3 required), another text editor, addresses two specific problems: one that caused the application to lock up when wrapping text on some computers and another that kept it from launching on older machines running Mac OS X v10.3.

Finally, GoldfishSoft has released SaveMe 1.3 ($20; Mac OS X v10.4 required), an update to its auto-saving utility that features keyboard control and customizability, interface enhancements and a universal binary that will allow it to run on today's PowerPC-based Macs as well as next year's Intel-based Macs.
