Oscar-Winning Editor Walter Murch to Attend Macworld Event

The Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group (LAFCPUG) on Wednesday announced that Oscar-winning film editor Walter Murch will attend a meeting of various Final Cut Pro user groups during Macworld Conference & Expo San Francisco. The event will take place Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 7:00 PM at the Mezzanine Club on Jessie St.

Mr. Murch will discuss his experience editing the film Jarhead and will take questions from the audience. LAFCPUG also expects Apple representatives Phil Jackson and Alec Little to attend the event and discuss Soundtrack Pro. In addition, Panasonic will demo its new HVX200 camcorder and various prizes will be raffled off throughout the evening.

Tickets are US$15 each, with food and drinks provided during the event. Doors open at 6:00 PM and seating is first come, first served. Anyone who wants to attend can learn more at the LAFCPUG Web site.
