Gefen announced the HD-Mate high definition converter on Wednesday. The HD-Mate is an interface box that connects HDTV capable devices, like DVD players, camcorders, and the Xbox 360, to Apple's Cinema Displays. It supports resolutions up to 1920x1080i, and includes two component inputs and one DVI input, and an on-screen image adjustment menu. The HD-Mate should ship in January 2006, and will be priced at US$299.
