Glass Cube Apple Store to Open May 19

by , 1:15 PM EDT, May 11th, 2006

Apple's highly anticipated Fifth Avenue store in New York is set to open on May 19 at 6:00 p.m. Much about the new store is shrouded in secrecy, other than it is visible through a 32-foot glass cube designed by Steve Jobs, and that it fills up about 20,000 square feet in the underground concourse at the General Motors building.

Apple's Cube Store Opens May 19.

Apple's Web site invites the public to the grand opening by saying "Celebrate the grand opening of the new Apple Store, Fifth Avenue. Win great prizes. Get a commemorative t-shirt. Be one of the first to experience our amazing new store. We look forward to seeing you."
