Subject: And the advantage of this over Delicious Library is what?

Three different programs to do the job that one does? For three times the price? Needs a dedicated scanner? Windows-like interface?

Why?

Their barcode scanner is windoze only.

I've been using Bookpedia for a long time and, IIRC, it was about $19.95 - or $39.95 for the Book/CD/DVD set. Prefer the screens more also.

Delicious Library also looks to be ahead of this one.

Delicious library is the best cataloging software available and is made for macs. It can handle movies, cds, video games, and dvds.

Subject: Advantage over Delicious Library

Hi,
I am the developer of the Collectorz.com products.

First, thanks for your comments.

FYI: There are many advantages over Delicious Library, the fact that there are 3 different programs for 3 completely different kinds of collection is its main advantage.
Each program has a user interface and database structure specifically designed for the task it is meant for. And each includes specific online sources for CDs, DVDs and books, whereas D.L. only uses Amazon.

And the programs have a native Mac OS X interface, not a Windows interface. The programs have been built from scratch for the Mac OS X platform. They are not Java ports of the Windows editions or something like that.

You are welcome to download and try our free trial editions, so that you can see for yourself.

DL uses a different data base structure for the 4 types of things it catalogs.
