The Omni Group Debuts OmniDazzle Mouse Cursor Enhancer

by , 4:25 PM EDT, June 16th, 2006

The Omni Group on Friday introduced OmniDazzle, a collection of mouse pointer plug-ins that enable users to illuminate a section of their display with a virtual flashlight, leave "pixie dust" trails behind them as they work, and more. Some are helpful for work-oriented functions while others are designed with fun in mind. All of them can be modified with various settings.

Other plug-ins available in the US$14.95 collection include: Cutout, which enables highlighting areas of the display with a circle, ellipse, rectangle or window border; Sonar, which sweeps the display for the mouse cursor's location; Focal Point, which automatically selects the active window; Scribble, which "vandalizes" the screen as the mouse cursor moves; Bullseye, which turns the mouse cursor into a bullseye; and Waves, which creates a rippling effect around the pointer.

OmniDazzle also offers three more plug-ins: Comic, which creates visual sound effects of the "Pow!" and "Zot!" variety; Footprints, which leaves footprints, both animal and human, in the cursor's wake; and Zoom, which magnifies an area of the screen.

Mac OS X v10.4.6 is required. OmniDazzle is a Universal Binary.
