by , 12:00 AM EDT, July 25th, 2006

Sonoma Wire Works has released version 2 of its music recording software RiffWorks, adding Universal compatibility with Intel and PowerPC processors, instant podcast publishing, a revised interface, and more. Other new features include Core Audio device compatibility, an expanded InstantDummer library, a SongLayer tool for full-length song recording, and RiffNotes, which provide a place to make remarks about recordings.

The full version of RiffWorks 2 is US$129.99, with upgrades from version 1 available for $59.99. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4, a 1.33GHz G4 processor (an Intel CoreDuo or 1.8GHz G5 recommended), 512MB RAM (1GB recommended), 1GB of free hard drive space for installation, and 5GB of hard drive space for recording.
