Apple IMC Sponsors Arab Student Film Project

Apple IMC East, Apple Computer's independent marketing company in the Middle East, is co-sponsoring the Dubai Summer Surprises student film project. According to AMEInfo, Apple IMC will provide editing facilities, iMacs, iMovie and Final Cut Pro so that students can edit their projects.

Dr. Elias Abou-Rustom, General Manager of Arab Business Machine Ltd (The company that manages Apple IMC East), commented "Here we can display our support for a local community event; an experience that will provide our young with an opportunity to express themselves creatively, while learning a variety of skills that can eventually open more doors for them in the future, in the realm of film-making and team work."

Apple IMC's involvement in the project not only exposes the students to Apple technology, but also lets the company take an active role in the community. Mr. Abou-Rustom added "It is an opportunity for us to give back to the community and be involved in projects that can benefit our children."

It's a good start, that "our" IMC does activities like this, but it's just that, a start. I hope they keep it up with more marketing activities, and support for various community efforts. We need more visibility in the market place. Brand recognition for iPod is sky-high but there's so much ignorance about Macs.
