Woz Prepping for South Pole Trip
Woz Prepping for South Pole Trip

Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, will be ditching his Segway temporarily to drive a hydrogen fuel cell-powered Hummer to the South Pole with Buzz Aldrin. Woz dropped the news in passing while speaking at the AlwaysOn conference at Stanford, according to Barrons. James Cameron plans to film the expedition in 3D.
Woz will be part of a group that is driving several Hummers from McMurdo Station to the South Pole in December of 2007. In true Woz style, his co-pilot is one of the first humans to walk on the moon.
Observer Comments
And as someone who has worked in Antarctica I kinda thought that a link to an article about the actual programme and trip might have been hiding under one of those links, but no such luck - what a stupid idea - both for whoever thought up those links and the pop up, and for me thinking they might lead somewhere useful.

OK let me be the second to say I REALLY dislike those double underlined links to pop-up ads. Hydrogen, South Pole, and moon, at least on my machine with Safari are the offenders. Oddly enough IE doesn't show them while FireFox on a Win machine does.
I understand the need to have ads pay for free-to-visit web sites, but I hate the pop-up and pop-unders, as well as the ones that strobe twice a second (which can make me leave a site). At least these ads don't pop-up automatically, but the double underlines do distract a bit from the body copy.
Mikuro, thanks for the tip on PithHelmet.

Oh the wonders of the firefox extension "adblock" and the "filterset.g updater". I didn't even know about this new advertising form until it was mentioned above.
SafariBlock is free. I never knew about those ads until i read the comments. Ha ha! ![]()
