Trans International Announces Mac Pro RAM Kits

by , 7:45 AM EDT, August 25th, 2006

Trans International announced its new memory upgrade kits for the Mac Pro on Friday. The memory chips are fully buffered 72-bit DDR2 ECC DIMMs (FB-DIMM) that operate at 667MHz. Trans International claims that its specially designed heat sink system allows for better heat dissipation and improved memory performance.

The Mac Pro memory upgrade kits will start shipping on August 28, and will be available in capacities ranging from 2GB up to 16GB. Pricing starts at US$499.

Benton -- I'm assuming you're asking "Who is Trans Intl", right?

They've been in the Mac market about as long as TMO has (7 years, give or take... I think I've got that number right!), and since then have been selling what, in my opinion, is high-quality RAM and, more recently, storage accessories. I've bought plenty of their RAM for my machines, and have been happy with every single stick.

In the interests of full disclosure, TransIntl is an advertiser on TMO, and has been here nearly since the beginning. While that was most certainly the reason for me buying from them initially, their quality and reliability has been the thing that brought me back; and that's *not* a paid endorsement, in any way that I see it.

Hope that answers your question!

Kindly,
-Dave

Yep, I'll echo what Dave said. Trans Intl was one of the very first TMO sponsors, and I've had several sticks of their RAM over the years, every one of which performed quite well.

That's also not a paid endorsement.

No one is suggesting that you invest in this company. This is irrelevant information.

I usually buy my ram from them... I've been buying stuff from them since about 98 or 99.... they usually have good or best prices, and an easy to use site.

Anyway, that being said..... DANNGGG!!! that ram is EXPENSIVE!!!. 2 gb for $500... yikes.
