Skype Adds Cross Platform Video to the Mac

Skype announced on Wednesday that it has added cross platform video call support to it's Mac Internet voice chat application. Skype for Mac 2.0 - still in beta - allows one-on-one video chats with both Mac and Windows, and is compatible with Apple's iSight as well as several other Web cameras. It requires at least a G4 800MHz Mac and Mac OS X 10.3.9.

Skype for Mac 2.0 beta is free, and available for download at the Skype Web site. Keep in mind this is beta software, so you shouldn't rely on it for critical work.

Skype also released Skype for Mac 1.5 on Wednesday. This is an update to the current version of the application. It adds easier dialing, a search feature for finding specific Skype contacts, Address Book and Entourage import, and more. Skype for Mac 1.5 is free, and available for download at the Skype Web site.
