by , 12:00 AM EDT, September 19th, 2006

stupidFish Programming has released version 3 of its clipboard manager shadowClipboard, a Universal Binary that runs only in Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger" and adds support for unlimited clipboard sets, simple mode previews, content filtering, clipboard set backups, multiple screens, and more.

Pricing is US$8 and $15 for single and group upgrades, respectively, for version 2.x owners, while the full version of shadowclipboard 3 is $15 and $30, respectively. The group version works on up to 10 Macs. Anyone who bought shadowclipboard 2.x on or after June 1, 2006 can upgrade to the new one for free by emailing the company.

I'm trying ShadowClipboard 3 on my new Intel iMac. This is the first time that I have ever seen it. It seems to work sometimes and not at other times; in some places and not other places. And it seems to be a bit slow in pasting when it does work. (I think it's not going to work and then it does!) The instructions really aren't a lot of help but I do think that I have it figured out. I tried to get registered on the website. They told me that my password is in my email but so far I haven't received anything from them. Is anybody else having trouble with it on the new Intel iMacs? It sure looks like it would be a great program if it worked like it says it should.

Too bad the author of this app registers second accounts to harass people on versiontracker and macupdate that give him bad reviews.

MacUpdate confirmed this was the case. But did nothing about it.

I'd never buy a program off someone so dishonest.

I wont go into his bait and switch pricing.

The first versions of this application were buggy but I was told they would get better and newer features would come. So I held out. It never really got better, but newer features did come. With a price. So when I went to complain about it over at MacUpdate the author or someone the author knew created a fake account with a stupifish email account. I know this because I saw it before he had a chance to hide it. So after several emails with MacUpdate they admitted that this indeed was the case, and said comments were deleted.

But that isn't the problem. Said author refuses to admit anything of the like happened. And has lied about it ever since.

DO NOT do business with this shady "company" run by a spineless weasel.
