Digital Life - Maxtor Pumps Up Drive Capacity to 1.5TB

NEW YORK, NY -- Helping to address the need of users to both store and back up large video, photo and audio files, Maxtor announced new capacity points for its Maxtor Shared Storage II and Maxtor OneTouch III storage solutions at the recent Digital Life show. Jay Pechek, Public Relations Specialist, gave us the scoop.

The Maxtor OneTouch III Turbo Edition, the top-of-the-line model, now offers up to 1.5TB storage in a single enclosure. The Maxtor OneTouch III single-drive solution is now available with up to 750GB of storage, and the Maxtor OneTouch III Mini Edition now offers up to 160GB.

The Maxtor Shared Storage III, which is a network device that can be shared between multiple Macs and PCs, not only comes in a 1TB size, but also offers a single-drive solution with 320GB or 500GB of space. Both the OneTouch III and Shared Storage III lines include backup software for both Macs and PCs.

Retail pricing for the Maxtor OneTouch III ranges from $149 for 160GB, to $499 for 750GB. Pricing for the Maxtor OneTouch III, Mini Edition ranges from $119 for 60GB, to $199 for 160GB. The Maxtor OneTouch III, Turbo edition will be priced from $549 for 1TB, to $799 for 1.5TB. Finally, the Maxtor Shared Storage III is $349 for 320GB, $449 for 500GB, and $799 for 1TB. All larger capacity drives will be available later this month.
