MacSoft Debuts eBay Tool Garage Sale

MacSoft Debuts eBay Tool Garage Sale

by , 3:40 PM EST, November 21st, 2006

MacSoft, a division of Destineer, on Tuesday released Garage Sale, a Mac-only tool that helps eBay users create and manage their auctions. The application features over 70 design templates, integration with iPhoto, image hosting via .Mac or a personal Web site, and built-in auction scheduling and tracking tools.

A product page was not available on MacSoft's Web site when this article was posted. Pricing and system requirements were also not available, aside from confirmation that Garage Sale is a Universal Binary that runs on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs.

Is MacSoft somehow being confused with iwascoding, who makes a shareware app called GarageSale with the exact same feature set as above?

Yep, looks like it, I've owned GarageSale for several months now!

No, no confusion here. MacSoft is publishing iwascoding's app.

So is it available to purchase? Strange that there is no purchasing info on the site...

The wording here seems odd. "Debut"? "Released?"

I, too, have been using Garage Sale for a while. I first saw a Garage Sale listing on eBay many months ago. (6?)

I think that means it doesn't qualify for a "debut". "Released" would be appropriate if it's a new version.

Whatever.

I have had problems with Garage Sale, however. Mine asks what zip code I'm selling from (after indicating that I'm in the U.S.), and upon entering 84092 it creates an eBay listing that locates me in Sandy, Germany, rather than Sandy, Utah.

People tend to not bid when your listing says you only ship to the U.S. and that you're located in Germany. Hopefully they have a new version that they're "debuting".

I also use GarageSale and had the same problem where it listed my location as Baltimore, Germany. Only did this to one of my first listings. All of the others were correct.

Hello.I have been using garage sale for a little while. About an hour I was advised that there was a new update from eBay.
There was new update for Garage Sale also. If I add it to the program is it going to cost me? If so, how much? I am a seventy six year young lady, and am paying eBay more than I am making. Therefore, I do not feel I can afford to invest any more since I am just trying to get rid of some accumulated 'things' mostly papers and small things I do not have room for. Thanks for your answer to miray67#yahoo.com.
