ThinkFree Office Has Unusual Percentage of Mac Users

ThinkFree Office has a higher percentage of Mac users than one might think, according to an interview with ThinkFree CEO Kang Tae-jin published Monday by CRN.com.
Mr. Kang said that Apple users tend to be more independent and account for a disproportionate share, about 10 percent, of his customers
ThinkFree Office, written in Java, is an productivity suite that is compatible with MS Office.
The ThinkFree CEO also expressed optimism that Microsoft's changes in Win Office 2007 could present some opportunities for his company. Referring to the new interface in Office 2007, Kang Tae-jin said, "We think a lot of Microsoft users will find the new Office 2007 interface very difficult.... A lot of users will get turned off by this. So we'll stick to the old look."
Interest has picked up in Think Free software since stories circulated about Google's interest in acquiring ThinkFree. Additional interest may generated in the Apple community by Microsoft's announcement that the release of Mac Office 2007 will lag six to eight months behind Win Office 2007.

I downloaded this and played with it a bit. So far it looks awesome. I've been trying to get MS free for a few years now, and it's been impossible without a good Excel replacement. My clients send me excel files all the time, so hopefully this should provide me with the ability to forego Excel and all of the rest of the MS Office products forever.
Oh, and not that I can't stand Office or something, it's pretty good. Aside from the MBU though, I haven't been impressed with MS and have been doing my best to stay out of their hegemony.

Have you looked at Tables? It might load your Excel files well enough. It's not free, but around $50 it also won't break your bank...
You can find it on www.versiontracker.com or www.macupdate.com.
